Miriam Conway

Miriam, a Breaffy native, is a graduate of St. Patrick’s College, Drumcondra and holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Special Educational Needs. Miriam brings a wide variety of teaching experience to Castlebar Educate Together National School having worked as a class teacher, learning support/resource and EAL (English as an Additional Language) teacher.

 

Miriam’s areas of special interest also include Social, Personal and Health Education (SPHE), Behaviour Management, Global Awareness, Inter-Culturalism and Human Rights Education (HRE). Miriam believes passionately that schools should be dynamic, vibrant learning communities, ensuring all pupils are nurtured to reach their full potential, working in partnership with families and the wider community.

 

Miriam believes her previous experience as an Assistant Principal and member of senior management, in the formative years of her previous developing school will be of particular value to Castlebar ETNS as it begins its journey.

 

Alongside Miriam’s passion for teaching, Miriam enjoys working with other teachers and has delivered a variety of workshops and courses for teachers and parents in the areas of Human Rights Education, Mental Health Awareness, Incredible Years, English as an Additional Language and Positive Behaviour Management. 

 

A former member of the Mayo School of Ballet and the Leinster School of Music and Drama, Miriam looks forward to sharing her passion for dance and the arts with the students of Castlebar Educate Together National School.
